Message from the Co-Presidents: become a member of IRPS

Dear colleagues: We wanted to keep you updated that after our previous email–informing you that the International Regulatory Peptides Society (IRPS) had been formally incorporated as a rule-driven, non-profit membership civil association–we were notified of the IRPS’s election as Member-Society to 1) the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR), 2) the International Neuroendocrine Federation (INF) and 3) the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO). As we all are aware, scientific societies play a massively important role in the progress of science. They give their members opportunities to engage with great minds and explore ground breaking scientific methods and share their own discoveries–small or great. Scientific societies promote first hand discussion and opinion exchange, and to learn the dreams, joys and difficulties of our colleagues, and our role for the society at large. An international scientific society plays a unique role for the cohesion of the community that it builds, through the organisation of conferences, workshops, membership assemblies…, as well as garden parties, dinners and other social events. For these reasons and more, we would like to appeal for your enthusiastic participation to become a formal member of IRPS, to participate in the Society’s activities, to propose symposia/plenary speakers to shape the upcoming RegPep2020, and to nominate yourself to be council members/officers for IRPS and even to propose yourself as a future President-elect/organizer of future RegPep meetings. Please be mindful that all the IRPS officers and councillors work for the Society voluntarily and every cent we raise from the membership and registration etc, will return to the international scientific community – it is our firm and undoubtable commitment.
